1. Agreement to terms

These terms govern your use of DiagramGenerator (the "Service"), operated by Boxes'n'Lines Limited ("we", "us"). By creating an account, subscribing, or using the Service, you agree to these terms.

2. The service

DiagramGenerator turns T-SQL stored procedures into Mermaid flow diagrams, via the web playground at /App, the public demo, and the bnl-diagrams command-line tool. Access beyond the free demo requires an active subscription and an API key.

3. Accounts

You're responsible for keeping your account credentials and API keys confidential, and for all activity under your account. Tell us as soon as possible if you suspect a key has been compromised so we can revoke it - an API key is a bearer credential, like any other, and a leaked key is fully usable until revoked.

4. Subscriptions and billing

Subscriptions are billed through PayPal on a recurring basis at the price shown on our pricing page at the time you subscribe. PayPal processes your payment details directly - we never see or store your card or bank information. Your PayPal account and receipts are the authoritative record of what you were charged and when.

You can cancel at any time from your account page; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period, and we don't provide partial-period refunds except where required by law.

5. Acceptable use

Your API key is issued for use via the bnl-diagrams CLI or our web playground. We don't support or document direct API integrations outside the CLI, and we actively discourage bypassing it - the CLI never sends your raw API key over the network. You may not share your API key outside your own organization, attempt to circumvent usage safeguards, or use the Service to process source code you don't have the right to submit.

6. Intellectual property

You retain all rights to the SQL source code you submit. We claim no ownership over it or the diagrams generated from it. The Service itself, including its software and branding, remains our property.

7. Data and privacy

We collect and process:

• Account data - your email address, and a password if you set one.
• Submitted SQL - source text you paste or upload is processed to generate a diagram; it is not used for any purpose beyond fulfilling that request and is not shared with third parties.
• Subscription data - PayPal subscription and status information, so we can activate and deactivate your API keys. Payment details themselves are held by PayPal, not us.

We use a small number of service providers to operate the Service (hosting and database infrastructure, and email delivery for password resets) - each acts only on our instructions and doesn't use your data for their own purposes. We retain account and subscription data for as long as your account is active, and for a reasonable period afterward for billing and support records.

8. Disclaimers and liability

The Service is provided "as is". Diagrams are generated automatically from the SQL you provide and may not capture every nuance of complex procedures - always verify against the original source for anything safety- or compliance-critical. To the extent permitted by law, we aren't liable for indirect or consequential losses arising from your use of the Service.

9. Termination

We may suspend or terminate access for breach of these terms, including sharing API keys or abusive use of the demo endpoint. You may stop using the Service and cancel your subscription at any time.

10. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time; continued use of the Service after a change constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
